Ravello is located through a narrow scenic road from the coast that climbs towards the mountains. Its dominant position gives the tourist a charming view of the entire Amalfi Coast, which makes this place unique. Richard Wagner fell in love with the panorama from the terrace on the Amalfi Coast, and took inspiration for the Parsifal and in honour of him each year hosts an international music festival. The suggestive quiet of Ravello was well appreciated by poets and writers.
The richness of art in Ravello is preserved in numerous religious monuments, including the Cathedral of St. Pantaleone, the patron saint of the city, that strikes for its rich marbles; then its adjacent bell tower high 35 metres, the Church of the Santissima Annunziata, the Church of St. Francesco, the Church of St.Chiara, the Church of St. Martino, the Church St.Angelo and the Church of St. Giovanni del Toro. Ravello is the heart of Bishop's Square, with the ruins of the Castle, the Cathedral and the Rufolo Palace. Do not miss the Villa Rufolo, capital of art and nature in Ravello, it is the seat of many musical and cultural events. Also to see the Villa Cimbrone.
